Pre---
Beloved pet of ours for 10 years--Pre (short for Prefontaine--named after Steve Prefontaine the runner) was born on Dec 19, 1998. Pre is a very big Weim and weighs about 90 pounds--but he is a "gentle giant". Pre has had obedience training. He has also done some agility and search & rescue training (not competitively) He loves daily walks, snoozing on the couch, cuddling under the covers, and keeping the yard free of squirrels and stray cats. He needs a fenced yard so he can lounge in the sun on the warm days and explore the yard at his leisure. He will not jump a fence. Pre is WONDERFUL with kids. He does well with other dogs but will give overly active dogs or puppies a grumpy growl if they bug him too much. He would not be safe around cats. Pre doesn't play very much now that he is older, but he is a lovey. He would be a great buddy for someone at home alone or would do well in a family as he does not need too much attention or activity these days--he just likes to be included in whatever is going on around him. Pre rides very well in the car.

Pre has some arthritis in one hip and has responded well with joint supplements. He is sometimes a little stiff after getting up, but he is 10 after all! He is very food oriented and will do just about anything for a treat. Pre is on high quality Nature's Variety Venison kibble and does very well on that. He is not too picky though and would do well on any high quality food.

What can I say? He is an awesome dog. He smiles. He is a member of our pack. We love him and hate that we have to leave him behind--but even if we could bring him, I am not sure I would want to put him through that trip. He deserves the best, most restful, and most comfortable life he can have.

With much love--
The Sporrer Family
